Meet the Chaplain & Founder
Greetings. I’m Bob Edwards. I began volunteering at what was then Washington CI in 2004 with Kairos Prison Ministries. I served on Kairos #1 at Washington CI, I also served on a few Kairos Weekends at Century CI. I began Preaching one Sunday a month at Washington CI (now known as NWFRC) in about 2005. Then when the Annex began housing inmates at Washington CI, I conducted Sunday Services every month at the Annex un till about July 2006. I continued Preaching at the main Unit. I then started serving in the Faith & Character Based Program at NWFRC in 2013 as a mentor coming in two Saturdays a week for mentoring.

In 2015, I continued mentoring and started facilitating classes in the Faith & Character Based Program first one day a week. My involvement in the Faith & Character Based Program grew over the next few years to the point where I was mentoring one Saturday a month and coming in to facilitating classes and participating in other Program activities three days a week. Additionally, I have continued Preaching one Sunday a month.
At the beginning in January of 2021, I took over as the Volunteer Chaplain Coordinating the Faith & Character Based Program after the passing of my farther who had been the Volunteer Chaplain coordinating the Program since it started in 2013.
Currently, I volunteer Three days a week as a Volunteer Chaplain at NWFRC where I Coordinate the Faith & Character Based Program. I participate in mentoring in the Program dorm one Saturday a month and I preach in the Main Unit Chapel one Sunday a month. I am also involved in Harvest of Life Prison Ministry and WOW Prison Ministry Journeys. The WOW Journeys are all day Thursday through Sunday six times a year. We have served at NWFRC – _Main Unit, NWFRC – _Annex, Santa Rosa CI, Okaloosa CI, Holmes CI, Apalachee CI and Walton CI. I also volunteer with Harvest of Life Prison Ministries.
